A Series of Training has been taken up under NRDMS Programme as per the following details.
|User interaction and training
User awareness workshops are organised at the districts to familiarise the potential users from the line departments with NRDMS methodology. Training programmes are also conducted for senior officials of the districts and faculty members of the national & state level training institutes to expose them to the modem techniques and tools for data management and natural resource planning. Scientists based at the GIS
| centres of the Project are provided hands-on training on GRAM GIS package and various other tools of data analysis to keep them updated with the developments of spatial data technology. In order to sensitise and train the district officials on a regular basis, formal linkages are being worked out with the Department of Personnel and Training.
1. First training progamme on SAR Interferometry
This training was organised between 5-30th July, 1999. The topics convered include operational SAR systems, SAR processor base line assessment model, Registration method, phase unwrapping DEM generation and its application. Nearly 14 candidates drawn from various institutions of India were trained.
2. Training and digital catography technique for GIS
The training course was organised between 25th November, 1998 to 6th January, 1999 at Survey Training Institute, Hyderabad. The topics covered include different methods of capturing of spatial data, identification in geographic database, projection of data, use of GPS and other GIS techniques involved in spatial data management. 7 officers drawn from different organisations were trained in this training.
